The public was stunned with Robert DeNiro saying, “…America is not ready for a white First Lady,” but he is consistent with the utter stupidity of political correctness. Why should this be? Are actors only parrots? Or do their words tell us who we are? Recently about Robert De Niro

America is in the most dangerous time for racial conflict in history. During slavery and the era of Jim Crow the American Negro was repressed. It was wrong. Differences between races are insignificant biologically, but not culturally. Sociologically we are much more products of nuture than nature.

In 1970 while walking in Los Angeles with a liberal friend, four young black men were coming our way. He became alarmed and ran into a dress shop. I stood there not knowing what to do as I was not in need of a new “fashion.” The young men passed, One said, “Hi,” and I said “Hi” They continued on in animated conversation, laughing and talking having barely noticed me. I went into the dress shop to find my friend cowering between racks of dresses.

“Are they gone?” “Yes,” I said, “What’s wrong?” He became defensive, going into a rant about crime, violence and raving about “razors.” We were a few years from the Watts riots and black guys were committing a disproportionate number of burglaries, but that did not make every Negro dangerous.

I lived in mostly black Baldwin Hills in the 60’s and never had a problem. We went to movie theaters. We had a black doctor. He had to have been at the top of his class to get into and through medical school. But, he had the largest hands I had ever seen. “Never a prostate exam from him,” I vowed.

Seeing what is happening, what I read and hear of liberals now it is clear they are in great fear of blacks who know it. This is a dangerous time for America’s Negroes as we are at critical mass. In a collapse or backfire they lose on numbers, power and money. As in Watts, what they burn they live with as there will be no money or impetus to repair what they destroy.

Fear is so much a component of “political correctness” the TSA bureau released, “The Council on American Islamic Relations is calling on Homeland Security to stop the humiliating, invasive, intrusive pat-downs of Muslim women.” Janet Napolitano replied “adjustments will be made particularly for Muslims.” Expect Muslim women to be exempted while 80 year-old white grandmothers and three year-olds are strip searched.

It was the genius of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to challenge hate and fear on both sides philosophically. We are no different under the skin. Negros have stronger bones, more dense muscles and total freckles. Whites swim better having more fat; that’s it. Our DNA interchanges, but cultures usually not; yet. But, they should. They have to as that is what America is all about, the best of everything for everybody in spite of Robert DeNiro.

Philippine Government ask Taylor Kitsch to correct his wrong statement about the country. “John Carter” star Taylor Kitsch was asked by Philippine government to correct his statement about Philippines and its airport official where he claims on his interview on David Letterman Show where David asked him about his experience in his travel to the Philippines where he gave him a rough treatment during his entry to the country. The Philippine immigration officials went out of their way to investigate the matter, but they found out that Taylor Kitsch was never in the Philippines as their record shows. The film Taylor said was actually shot in a different country, in Indonesia. Now the Philippine official are mulling to write to the actor to retract what he said since it tainted a good record that they have in their office. I feel confident that Mr. Kitsch was mistaken in saying that his bad experience during his travel was in the Philippines, Bureau of Customs commissioner Ruffy Biazon said in his report, published on the website of local television station ABS-CBN. Authorities had found no customs or immigration records of Kitsch s visit, Biazon said. Also, the Philippine government had not given any permits for location shooting for the Oliver Stone-directed Savages , contrary to the actor s suggestion. Biazon said he learnt some scenes in the upcoming film, also starring John Travolta and Uma Thurman, were actually recently filmed in Indonesia, the Philippines neighbour to the south. Unfortunately, the damage was done . In the meantime, Mr. Kitsch, perhaps you can help us redeem our lost pride, Biazon wrote. Watch the video below.
This blog post is part of the Boris Karloff Blogathon. The moment I discovered the Internet all those years ago, I also discovered the beauty of Old Time [..]

This blog post is part of the Boris Karloff Blogathon. The moment I discovered the Internet all those years ago, I also discovered the beauty of Old Time Radio (OTR). In this day and age of constant entertainment it is hard to fathom just how much of an input radio drama had on the lives of millions during the golden age of OTR between the 1930s and 60s. During that time radio effectively took the place of TV in most people’s homes and radio drama represented a variety of common genres such as mystery, horror, superheroes, western, Science Fiction, soap opera and much more.

Similar to the way early TV programs were quickly discarded or taped over by the corporations, radio shows were equally got rid off quickly in order to free up shelf spaces in the archives. In actual fact if it wasn’t for the efforts of early OTR enthusiasts a lot of the programs would no longer be around. In the early days collecting OTR often required searching in trash dumps for any reels that may have been disposed off. Over the years and with advances in technology OTR collecting became more accessible to the masses, though it still only constitutes a niche hobby of a small, but highly enthusiastic group of fans. Shows were first of all swapped through reel-to-reel, then tapes and CDs finally in MP3 format, first of all through CD or DVD trades and now as direct downloads through the Internet. The beauty of OTR is that the classic shows up until Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar are not so much out of copyright, but never appear to be copyrighted in the first place which makes trading a guilt free and perfectly legal affair. The sound quality of the shows available can vary, but for the most part is decent enough to guarantee perfect enjoyment. OTRs are also available for sale, though most enthusiasts look down upon this and it is perfectly feasible to quickly amass a large collection that will give you pleasure for years to come without ever spending a single penny.

Classic radio dramas not only promise great entertainment value, but are also essential for any fan of classic cinema. If you’re into any of the classic Hollywood actors you just need to become a fan of OTR to truly appreciate the scope of those actors’ talents as practically everyone of these artists was at some stage involved with recording radio shows. Some recorded very little: Bela Lugosi e.g. was very much compromised by his strong accent that prevented him from making a real impact on radio. Some recorded a lot: The likes of Orson Welles or Vincent Price e.g. have such a broad recording history that it nearly warrants an entire tome just dedicated to that aspect of their acting careers. But whether an actor recorded a little or a lot, the chances that your favourite classic thespian recorded a least a certain amount are very high.

So how does Boris Karloff fit into this? Just a cursory glance at the listing on the official Karloff site reveals that he was one of the more prolific radio actors. His mellifluous voice was ideal for radio shows and his OTR output was tremendous. There’s hardly a month in his career in which he did not record radio shows and in actual fact there was many a period when he was involved in several shows per month. This is a gigantic output especially considering that at the same time he was also busy shooting hundreds of movies and TV shows. But the sheer numbers of radio shows is not the only thing to hit you when you start looking at Karloff, the radio performer. More important is the sheer range and versatility of these performances. Sure, true to form there are indeed a wide range of macabre performances that come with the territory, but he also appeared in comedy shows often spoofing his own image. And if you were always annoyed that he didn’t star in Frank Capra’s Arsenic and Old Lace, rejoice as you can listen to him reprising his stage role as Jonathan Brewster in a couple of radio dramas. Together with his colleague John Carradine he also appeared in Information Please, a celebrity radio quiz show in which he was able to demonstrate a wide range of knowledge that would put most current celebs to shame. He also was the host of a long running series of factual programs based on stories published in the Readers’ Digest.
So if I have managed to wet your appetite a little bit, then what are you waiting for? Luckily for us a large number of his radio shows are available freely on the Internet as MP3s. Though there are already at least two good Karloffian OTR lists around (the one on the official site as well as one on the Radio Gold Index I have decided to run my own here. It is a conglomerate of the other two lists as some of the titles were not listed on both. Also none of the two lists features links to available shows online. Those lists do, however, provide a wealth of extra info about the individual shows well worth checking out. So my goal with this list is to provide an extensive overview of Karloff’s radio work as well as info on where to listen to those shows. A list like this will by its very nature probably remain forever incomplete. From the 12 (or 13) episodes of Creeps by Night that Karloff was involved in, the titles of only seven are still known and of those only two still appear to be available in any shape or form. I would like to have this list as a constant work in progress and want to keep it as updated as much possible, I would welcome any additional info available, both regarding new episode names or dates as well as links to online availability not mentioned yet.
This list does not cover Karloff’s appearances on audio records, some of which can also be found online. The IMDB has provided a short cursory overview into this aspect of Karloff’s career. For those of you not averse to spending on OTR, the OTRcat has 69 Boris Karloff shows available on CD for just $5. Some of them do not appear to be easily available online otherwise. Barbara Hershey and Naveen Andrews, who have been in relationship with each other, have parted their ways according to reports. The have been in relationship for 12 years and ultimately, this relationship came to an end according to Lost star representative. The most hilarious thing about their relationship is that they had broken up with each other some six months ago but they are still friends . According to media reports, their relationship was a little bit odd for some people because of their age difference.

Perhaps people will not believe in the fact that they have the age difference of 21 years. Yes! Barbara is 21 years older than Andrews. On the other hand, she does not look that much older. She is gorgeous even at this age. Barbara Hershey was born in Hollywood, Los Angeles on February 5, 1948 and she is 62 years old. She is the daughter of an actor, Arnold Nathan Herzstein.
Previously, Barbara had relationship with David Carradine and she gave birth to a child, Free, from him. Then she married to Stephen Douglas. They got separated in 1992.

I don t believe in one miracle product that does it all, says Marla Malcolm Beck, founder of the Bluemercury beauty boutiques. While Beck is constantly experimenting with new potions and lotions stocking the shelves of her stores across the country, from Georgetown and Philadelphia to Tucson and the just-opened location in Manhattan s Union Square she also believes in making core changes to one s routine along with the seasons, as skin s needs and makeup moods change with the weather. Heading into spring, there s an element of simplicity, she says. We get a lot more relaxed and we don t necessarily want to spend the time putting on a full face. Click through our slideshow above to see what Beck is using to take her from winter to spring.

APRIL 28, 2011 Reponse to Part I of this interview has been overwhelmingly favorable. Thank you, one and all. Before continuing, I want to remind readers that the picture we re discussing is Alexander Revisited: The Final Version,” not the “director’s cut.” The iteration known as “director s cut was made in 2004, at the time of the Alexander s theatrical release. Only after years of deep reflection and hard work in his editing room did Oliver Stone release the extremely moving Final Version, exclusively on dvd, in 2007. It is now available on iTunes and “on demand.” Make sure you see the right one. Prior to the end of this post’s first part, Alexander s director spoke about the great pre-1960 s road show movies, which were exhibited with intermissions. Such breaks, he pointed out, enabled viewers to digest what they d seen in the first two hours and, thereby, have a heightened experience of the end of the film. Mr. Stone remarked that this was before Hollywood studios were gripped by incessant screaming about grosses and running time. . He continued: Because of the flexibility of the dvd format, I could add an intermission. No one at the studio could object to the length of a film viewers would see in their own homes. And you need that breather in order to absorb a complex narrative with so many characters. In the first part of the movie, Alexander gets all the way to the Himalayas, to the Hindu Kush, and he sees that Aristotle s map is wrong; these mountains are not the end of the world. His response is, We must get to the end. He didn t know where or what that was, he just knew he had to get there …
